A Sacred Gathering encircles five large, micaceous rose and white quartz boulders, some almost completely veiled in pale blue and green colonies of lichen. Paths leading in, as well as those surrounding the perimeter, are constructed with cobbles of siltstone. Their surfaces are covered with water marks and patterns from when this region was an inland. Encircling the quartz boulders, granite river stones have varied, banded markings and smooth surfaces. All the stones were set by hand and placed aesthetically to create the appearance of a human gathering place constructed to honor the Earth and nature. Inspired by prehistoric human sites, A Sacred Gathering appears to celebrate the Earth, nature, and creation's beauty.
